Privacy
The short version. No ads, no advertising trackers, no cookies, no email or password. Instead of an account, the game gives you a random player code. With it, the game can save your progress online, put your checked scores on the leaderboards under a made-up name like “Copper Crab 360”, and – only if you allow it – count whether players come back. In the store apps you can also sign in with Game Center (iPhone) or Google Play Games (Android) to keep your progress across phones. Everything optional can be switched off in Settings, and “Delete all my data” removes everything at once.
Who runs Linebeast
Linebeast is run by [operator name], United Arab Emirates. Contact: [contact email]. That is who is responsible for the data described here.
What stays on your device
The game keeps your best scores, Expedition and event progress, your hunter profile (level, achievements, power-ups, streak, trophies), your monster companion, “Your story” (the dated moments of your game, such as a first win or a boss defeated), which monsters you have lost against, your weekly game counts, the made-up name of your league rival, your companion’s home (its decorations and keepsakes), the made-up names and companions of friends who visited or played your pillow fights with your count against them, how many Relax boards you played today, your Bestiary, your settings, today’s result, your random player code and one prepared game seed on your device. In the website this is your browser’s local storage; clearing site data removes it. In the apps the same data is also kept as a backup copy in the app’s own storage, so the phone can’t lose it when it runs low on space; uninstalling the app or “Delete all my data” removes it. Daily reminders (only if you turn them on) are planned on your phone and never involve our server.
What is sent to our server and kept
| Data | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Your random player code | So your scores and saved progress belong together. The leaderboards and records use a one-way scrambled version of it (a pseudonym, shown only as your made-up name). If you sign in with Game Center or Play Games, the code is also stored encrypted next to that sign-in, so a new phone signed in to the same account can get your progress back. | Scrambled version: until 90 days after your last ranked run. Encrypted copy: until 365 days after you last signed in, or until you delete it |
| The moves of a finished ranked run, the mode, the date, week or game seed | The server replays every move to recompute the score, so cheated scores can’t get on the boards. Moves of Today’s Beast and Hunt runs are kept so suspicious scores can be re-checked. | Today’s Beast: 60 days. Hunt: 12 weeks. Weekly event: your best result per stage, 12 weeks |
| Your weekly league: which group of 30 you are in, your place, whether you moved up or down, and crowns for group wins. The best player of each event week is shown in the Hall of Fame | So you compete with players of a similar level each week. Others see only your made-up name, stars, points and crowns. Delete it with “Delete my scores”. | League groups and the Hall of Fame: 12 weeks. Crowns: with your scrambled code (90 days after your last ranked run) |
| Your companion’s number (once you earn your companion egg) | So every player’s companion is one of a kind: its look and name follow from the number, and a number is never given to anyone else, even after it was deleted. | Until 365 days after you last played, or until you delete all your data (the number itself is then retired, not reused) |
| Your part in a World Beast: how many monsters you defeated during that week, with your scrambled code | All players fight the World Beast together, so the game adds everyone’s parts into one shared health bar, keeps each player’s share fair (a daily limit) and gives the reward once. Others see only the total and the number of helpers. Not sent while “Put my scores on the leaderboard” is off. Delete it with “Delete my scores”. | 8 weeks |
| Monster Race, only if you join one: which race group you are in, how many different Expedition levels you won during it and when, which levels already counted, and whether you collected your prize, all under your scrambled code | So up to 5 players can race to 5 wins. Others in your race see only your made-up name and your number of wins. Each win is replayed by the server like every ranked run. “Delete my scores” removes you from the race. | 3 days after the race day |
| Friends from Game Center or Google Play Games (apps only, only if you sign in and allow it): which friends you have, as keyed scrambled versions of their player IDs | To show which of your friends play Linebeast, with their made-up name, companion and Hunt score this week. A friend only appears when you are on each other’s lists, so nobody can look you up with an ID they found elsewhere. The real player IDs are never stored. “Delete my scores” removes your lists. | This month and last month |
| Sleepovers and pillow fights, only if you open a friend’s sleepover link or play a friend’s challenge: a note for that friend (your made-up name and score), and the count of pillow fights won between your two scrambled codes (a visit alone starts it at 0 : 0) | So your friend sees that their companion arrived and how the pillow fight went, and you both see the count. Nobody else sees it. Pillow-fight games are replayed by the server like every ranked run. Not sent while “Put my scores on the leaderboard” is off. “Delete my scores” removes them, also from your friends’ news. | Notes: 14 days. Counts: 90 days after your last pillow fight together. “Already counted today” markers: 2 days |
| Score, stars, moves, monsters defeated, time posted | To rank you. Others see only your made-up name and these numbers. Switch off: Leaderboard → “Put my scores on the leaderboard”. | Same as above |
| Your saved progress (the list in “What stays on your device”, without the player code) | So you can continue on another device. Switch off: Settings → “Save my progress online”. | Until 365 days after you last played, or until you delete it |
| Usage counts, added together for all players per day: which mode, level or event stage was started, won, lost or left unfinished, how many tries a level took before it was first won, how long the game was open and which part of it was on screen (in seconds), which screens were opened, and where a visit ended | To see which levels are too hard or too easy, how long players play and which parts of the game they enjoy, so the game can be improved. These are plain totals sent without your code or any other identifier: nobody can see what one player did. Switch off: Settings → “Share anonymous usage counts”. | 90 days |
| Only if you say yes: a “played today” mark with your scrambled code, and whether today was your first day | To measure how many players come back the next day and after a week. Off unless you allow it (the game asks once); switch it off any time: Settings → “Count my return visits”. | 60 days |
| Game Center or Google Play Games sign-in (apps only, only if you sign in) | To link your progress to your account. Apple’s signed proof or Google’s one-time code is checked with Apple or Google; we keep only a keyed scrambled version of your Game Center / Play Games player ID. Google receives the one-time code from our server to confirm it. | Until 365 days after you last signed in, or until you delete it |
| Which days you already played Today’s Beast | Only your first try of the day counts, so this marker stays even if you delete your scores. | 2 days |
| Your network (IP) address | To slow down anyone flooding the server. We keep only a keyed scrambled version of it, counted per hour. | Up to 2 days |
| Hourly request counts and the Hunt seeds handed to you, under your scrambled code | So one player can’t flood the server, and so a Hunt score can only be posted on a seed the server gave you. | Up to 8 days |
We do not ask for, and the game has no place to type, your name, email, age or any message. Names on the boards are generated from your scrambled code. A challenge link you share contains that scrambled code and a signature, so whoever opens it sees your made-up name and your real score. A sleepover link carries the same, plus your companion’s number, its growth stage and whether you are a league champion.
Why we may use this data (EU/UK users)
Saving and restoring your progress, the leaderboards you choose to take part in, the fair-play checks and the security limits: our legitimate interest in running a fair game you asked to play (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Return-visit counts: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw in Settings at any time. Anonymous totals contain no personal data.
Our hosting provider
The game’s website and server run on Netlify, Inc. (USA), which processes every request, including your IP address, to deliver the site and keeps short-lived technical logs. Netlify acts as our processor under its data processing agreement, which includes the EU Standard Contractual Clauses; see Netlify’s privacy policy. This means data may be processed in the United States. If you sign in with Game Center or Google Play Games, Apple or Google process that sign-in under their own privacy policies.
Delete your data
In the game or app: Settings → “Delete all my data” → tap again to confirm. This removes your scores, saved progress, account links, return-visit marks and everything on the device. Only the 2-day “already played today” marker stays, and the 2-day “already counted today” markers for visits and pillow fights. Leaderboard → “Delete my scores” removes your scores, stored runs, league places, World Beast part and pillow-fight counts (also from your friends’ news).
From another device: open playlinebeast.com, Settings → paste your player code → “Restore”, then Settings → “Delete all my data”.
By email: write to [contact email] with your player code (Settings → “Your player code”). We delete everything linked to it within 30 days and confirm by email; we don’t keep your email address afterwards.
Your other rights
You can switch off each optional use in Settings, ask us at the contact above for a copy or correction of your data, and complain to your local data protection authority.
Children and teens
Linebeast is meant for players aged 13 and over. It has no chat, no free text and no profiles, names are made up by the game, the optional uses are off or can be switched off, and nothing is used for advertising. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children under 13; if you believe a child has used the game, contact us and we’ll delete the data linked to their code.
Changes
If this policy changes, we update the date at the top. Big changes will also be shown in the game.
